Just watched a great video titled “Killing IAM in Order to Save It” by Ian Glazer. Couldn’t agree with Ian’s thesis more and it’s very much the thesis around ForgeRock’s Open Identity Stack. We’ve been saying for a long time that IAM needs to be reconstituted for today’s problems and “one size doesn’t fit all!” Classic employee-focused IAM is a world away from the problems CIOs are being asked to address today. Taking a legacy stack vendor solution and throwing it at todays B2C and Cloud challenges is a recipe for disaster. Modern APIs. Standards. Scale. Speed. Modular architecture. All needed to address modern IAM.
