Lead Developer, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Spark NZ
Marc began his IT career as a computer operator on IBM mainframes for the New Zealand Government in 1984, when mainframes were water-cooled, 80MB was a lot of disk, and they occupied an entire floor of a building. He moved through Operations, into Systems programming supporting the IBM SNA and X.25 networks. From there he moved into TCP/IP Networking and Firewalls and then, Security. During this time, Marc's employer was privatised, sold, (to EDS) sold again, (to Hewlett-Packard) and finally, the work I was ‘in-sourced’ to Telecom New Zealand. A few years later, Telecom rebranded as Spark New Zealand.
