Marc Priebee
Lead Developer, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Spark NZ
Marc began his IT career as a computer operator on IBM mainframes for the New Zealand Government in 1984, when mainframes were water-cooled, 80MB was a lot of disk, and they occupied an entire floor of a building. He moved through Operations, into Systems programming supporting the IBM SNA and X.25 networks. From there he moved into TCP/IP Networking and Firewalls and then, Security. During this time, Marc's employer was privatised, sold, (to EDS) sold again, (to Hewlett-Packard) and finally, the work I was ‘in-sourced’ to Telecom New Zealand. A few years later, Telecom rebranded as Spark New Zealand.
Martin Brown
Information Security Advisor (Director), Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC)
Martin serves as an Information Security Advisor (Director) for the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), where he is responsible for the delivery of Information and ICT security across the agency, assisting the Chief Security Officer and other executives. Principal responsibilities include government security policy compliance, strategy, governance, awareness, and assessment (PSPF, ISM, etc). Leading the Information Security team and reporting to the Executive on overall agency InfoSec posture and risk. Liaising with other intelligence agencies. High level Defence clearance. He has been with the agency for more than 11 years. Prior to that, Martin worked at Macquarie as an identity expert and has worked with various organizations as a UNIX and network administrator.
Robert Meakins
Service Owner: Identity Squad at Westpac New Zealand
Robert has over a decade of industry experience working with the ForgeRock product stack. He is currently working with Westpac New Zealand to get the most out of their ForgeRock implementation and move forward with new and developing identity practices. His favourite feature of the platform is the flexibility and level of customisation that can be applied to suit any organisation’s I&AM needs.
Sara Vale-Smith
Executive Manager, Suncorp
Sara is an Executive Manager at Suncorp, leading teams of Identity specialists to deliver exceptional customer interactions on Suncorp’s digital channels. Sara has previously worked in entertainment, state government, oil and gas industries as well as consultancy in senior delivery roles. She holds an MBA, is a leader for Suncorp’s LGBTQIA+ employee resource group, and enjoys not-for-profit local community volunteering.
Sheikh Mehdi
Senior Software Engineer, Westpac New Zealand
Sheikh has been a backend developer for 8 years, working primarily in Java with some Go and Python mixed in. In 2021 he moved from Ireland to Auckland and joined Westpac New Zealand. Since then, he's been with Identity Squad at the bank, mostly around Access Management. More recently he worked on the migration of our ForgeRock stack to FRv7.
Fran Rosch
Chief Executive Officer, ForgeRock
A passion for digital trust, customer engagement and consumer privacy led Fran to ForgeRock. As CEO, Fran brings 20+ years experience building and leading high-performing enterprise security and identity management teams. Fran joined ForgeRock from Symantec, where he was EVP & GM of the company's $2B+ Consumer Digital Safety segment; a continuation of his success as senior vice president of Authentication and Identity Management Services. He joined Symantec in 2010 through the acquisition of VeriSign's security business. Fran holds a B.S. in industrial engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
Peter Barker
Chief Product Officer, ForgeRock
Peter Barker is Chief Product Officer at ForgeRock, driving the company's global product vision, design and development, and leading product management and all of engineering. Peter joined ForgeRock from Oracle, where he served as senior vice president and general manager of the Identity Management and Security business. Based in Austin, Texas, Peter previously held executive-level positions at Good Technology, Motorola, FedEx and other companies.
